OverviewA Day in Your Life at MKS/ High Q Laser.As a Senior Software Engineer (w/m/d) at High Q Laser GmbH, part of MKS, you will work closely with global teams to design, develop, and support software interfaces for high‑tech laser systems.In this role, you'll take ownership of a business‑critical MES system used across production lines, influence new product introduction (NPI) processes, and modernise a homegrown system.The role reports directly to the Manufacturing & Engineering Manager.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and maintaining the internal MES system, including the implementation of new manufacturing workflows, features, and improvements.Designing and implementing software interfaces to communicate with laser systems, test equipment, and production hardware.Developing user‑friendly GUIs (WPF) for operators, technicians, and engineers in a manufacturing environment.Ensuring reliable data handling and traceability, including interaction with SQL databases using Entity Framework (EF6).Supporting manufacturing operations, troubleshooting software issues in production and implementing sustainable solutions.Collaborating cross‑functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Automation teams to support new product introductions and process changes.QualificationsSeveral years of job‑related work experience.Strong experience in C# software development.Experience with SQL databases using Entity Framework 6 (EF6).Solid knowledge of WPF for desktop GUI development.Fluent German & English (spoken and written).Salary and BenefitsDas tatsächliche Gehalt liegt über dem Kollektivvertrag „Metallgewerbe Angestellte“ und orientiert sich an der beruflichen Qualifikation und Erfahrung sowie am Vorarlberger Arbeitsmarkt.Eligibility and ComplianceCertain positions require access to controlled goods and technologies subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
