Overview

The location of this post is Nairn/3B. The Senior Charge Nurse within Renfrewshire Mental Health In-Patient Services is a pivotal role, working with the nursing and multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of care is delivered to patients in one of our mental health wards. The post-holder will have 24 hour continuing responsibility for the ward they manage. It is essential that the post-holder is a First-Level Registered Mental Health Nurse with significant post registration experience and relevant speciality experience with appropriate post-registration training. Your shift pattern will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and you will be required to participate in the Senior Charge Nurse On-Call rota.
Initial placement will be decided on appointment but could be based on any of the three Renfrewshire Mental Health In-Patient sites; Dykebar Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital or Leverndale Hospital. This post requires PVG membership scheme/Disclosure Scotland check.
Responsibilities
* Lead the nursing team in-line with the Senior Charge Nurse job description.
* Provide 24 hour continuing responsibility for the ward.
* Work with the nursing and multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of care for patients in Renfrewshire Mental Health In-Patient Services.
Qualifications and Requirements
* First-Level Registered Mental Health Nurse with significant post-registration experience and relevant speciality experience with appropriate post-registration training.
* Strong organisational skills, good time management, and excellent communication abilities.
* PVG membership scheme/Disclosure Scotland check is required.
* Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm; participation in the Senior Charge Nurse On-Call rota.
* Initial placement could be at Dykebar Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital or Leverndale Hospital.
