* Provide corrosion and materials expertise to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable operation of petrochemical refining assets, with a focus on new technologies and sustainable feedstocks.
* Support and actively participate in Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) and IOW workshops across all sites, contributing to the annual RBI execution plan and Re-RBI studies.
* Evaluate and assess new damage mechanisms arising from new technologies and sustainable feeds through literature reviews, laboratory investigations, and R&D activities.
* Perform and lead failure analyses of corrosion, metallurgical, and degradation-related failures, including contracting laboratory services and defining mitigation measures.
* Approve or reject Material Selection Diagrams (MSDs) and project deviation requests related to corrosion and materials in capital and modification projects, in alignment with TA1 C&M.
* Prepare technical documentation such as reports, specifications, standards reviews, and recommendations related to corrosion management and material selection.
* Plan, execute, and document technology and investigation projects, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, schedule, and strategic objectives.
* Support and maintain processes and workflows related to RBI, material standards, QA/QC (including supplier inspections), inspection activities, and failure reporting.
* Support site integrity and inspection activities during plant shutdowns and turnarounds under supervision of Asset Integrity management.
Your profile
* Master’s degree or Diplom in Chemistry, Chemical/Process Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a comparable technical discipline combined with first relevant professional experience like an internship or 1 year practical experience.
* Solid understanding of corrosion mechanisms, metallurgy, and chemistry, with interest in process and chemical engineering, material selection, inspection concepts, and corrosion management.
* Strong interest in laboratory investigations, literature studies, standard reviews, and applied technical problem-solving; good understanding of project management principles.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, networking mindset, willingness to travel occasionally, proactive learning attitude, and strong interest in new and sustainable technologies.
* Fluent in German and English. Romanian is an advantage.
Benefits
The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement amounts to EUR 66.304,--. Depending on skills and specific experience, over-payment is possible.
