Overview
The Project Management Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting the Strategy Department of the OPEC Fund for International Development in driving the institution’s strategic agenda. This includes monitoring the implementation of strategic initiatives, action plans, performance targets, and policies across four specialized units: Strategic Planning, Innovative Financing Solutions, Sustainability & Climate Change, and Development Effectiveness. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and alignment with institutional goals.
Responsibilities
* Collect and analyze strategic data, contribute to decision-making processes, and provide insights that support the achievement of long-term objectives.
* Assist the Vice President’s Front Office in planning, budgeting, project management, and performance tracking to ensure smooth execution of departmental priorities.
* Coordinate and monitor progress and impact of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
* Conduct regular reviews and assessments of ongoing projects, identifying risks, challenges, and opportunities.
* Design and implement key performance indicators and monitoring frameworks to track performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
* Support planning and execution of work plans, budgets, staffing, and other departmental initiatives.
* Coordinate with Directors of the four Strategy Units on relevant matters.
* Develop data collection methodologies and tools, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of data.
* Collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform strategic decision-making and organizational performance.
* Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to derive insights and support evidence-based decision-making.
* Conduct research on emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in international development.
* Maintain effective communication channels within the department and with external stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
* Perform any other tasks as may be assigned by the Vice President, Strategy Department.
Qualifications And Experience
* A Master’s degree in Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, Project Management or Engineering or a closely related field.
* A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 2 years in international development institutions.
* Fluent in English. Good working knowledge of Arabic, French, or Spanish is an added advantage.
