Your future responsibilities
As part of the DireQTproject, we are developing cutting‑edge solid‑state quantum system‑on‑chip solutions. We are looking for a motivated analog circuit designer to drive the development of key building blocks like DACs, amplifiers, and photodetector readout circuits in advanced CMOS technologies towards innovative solutions for quantum applications.
As a Junior Scientist at SAL, your focus will lay on scientific work and methods, as well as developing strong R&D skills.
Join a dynamic, research‑oriented team where your designs will help shape the future of quantum applications.
Your future tasks include:
* Research and develop innovative IC solutions for quantum sensors readout circuits
* Schematic and layout design of analogue circuits, such as DACs, switched capacitor amplifiers, current regulators and photodetector readout circuits, in CMOS technology (e.g. 28 nm process).
* Verification and lab measurements of analog circuits; operation of measurement equipment
* Involved in demonstrator development
* Contribution to SAL's high‑level research with scientific output
* Participation in conferences, (co)author scientific papers in high impact journals and contribution to SAL's scientific visibility
* Support in project acquisition, funding proposals, and project management under guidance
* Active scientific networking to strengthen SAL’s visibility and reputation
Your profile
* Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering
* Experience with schematic and layout circuit design tools
* Knowledge of analog design circuits such as ADC and DAC
* Strong knowledge of analog circuits like switched capacitor amplifiers, current regulators, photodetectors, readout circuits
* Autonomous, with self‑initiative (research oriented), well organized and enjoying working in a dynamic and multicultural team
* Professional communication skills in English, command of German language is a plus
* Willingness to relocate to Villach, Austria
