What you will do:
* Produce insightful analyses of macroeconomic conditions, including GDP, sectoral IP, CPI, and central bank policies, focusing on their impact on energy markets (petroleum, gas/LNG, coal, metals, and European electricity).
* Provide verbal and written briefings to trading desks through regular meetings, reports, and presentations, fostering discussions on key macroeconomic developments.
* Help traders and analysts translate macroeconomic views into demand expectations and potential trading ideas.
* Collaborate with colleagues and support other stakeholders, such as mid-term energy markets modelling, Risk, and Treasury teams, with actionable input.
What you bring & who you are:
* A team-oriented, curious, and communicative individual who thrives in a trading environment.
* At least 5 years of experience in macroeconomic analysis within a highly communicative setting.
* A trading-oriented mindset with strong knowledge of energy fundamentals (oil, gas, and electricity) and their links to macroeconomic developments.
* Expertise in time series and data analysis techniques using Python or similar programming languages.
* Completed Master’s degree or higher academic qualification in economics, econometrics, or finance.
* Proficiency in English
