Impact
At Lam, as a Buyer, you play a pivotal role in our procurement process. You analyze purchase requirements and coordinate purchasing activities across departments to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of inventory. You'll support processing purchase requisitions as well as NPI (New Product Implementation), change orders, and quotes (RFQs) from suppliers. Engaging in cost analysis and volume planning within our enterprise-wide systems (ERPs), you negotiate for the best value and explore new supply sources for cost‑saving. Your expertise ensures Lam's procurement remains efficient and competitive on a global scale. It is important for us to point out that this role is operative.
Responsibilities
Review, analyze and process purchase requisitions
Process purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers
Manage purchase order releases daily to meet demand requirements
Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner
Work with the suppliers on a daily basis to assure scheduled deliveries are met
Understand, maintain weekly reports
Develop and maintain key supplier relationships with day‑to‑day interface (peer level) to review open action items, suppliers performance to commitments of on time deliveries, future demand and future cost reductions forecasting
Qualifications
Commercial education - e.g. apprenticeship (LAP) or HAK
Work experience in an industrial environment would be an asset but not a requirement
Very good MS Office skills
ERP/SAP skills preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and German
Benefits
This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in the occupation group D or E. A higher payment is negotiable depending on education, expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
