Vehicle Portfolio Manager/Product Manager– Automotive & Mobility – Vienna
Our client is part of a publicly listed international group operating across the automotive and mobility sectors. With a strong presence across multiple markets, the company specializes in automotive distribution, services, and related commercial operations. As part of its continued European expansion, the group is currently establishing its operations in Austria and building a local team to support long-term growth.
About the role
We are looking for a commercially minded Vehicle Portfolio Manager/Product Manager to act as the key bridge between the international manufacturer, the parent company, and the Austrian market. In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of the product portfolio—from specification and ordering through market launch and lifecycle management—while ensuring strong market positioning and commercial success.
Job Responsibilities
* Manage the full lifecycle of vehicle models, including product specification, ordering, market launch, and phase-out
* Serve as the primary point of contact with the international manufacturer, handling daily communication on product updates, technical questions, and reporting
* Conduct ongoing market analysis and competitor benchmarking to identify opportunities and trends in the Austrian automotive landscape
* Develop data-driven pricing strategies and commercial positioning to ensure competitiveness and profitability
* Work closely with marketing and sales teams to plan and execute product launches and dealer-level go-to-market strategies
* Monitor stock levels and manage inventory planning through accurate forecasting and demand planning
* Act as the local product expert, providing product training and technical guidance to sales teams and dealer partners
* Prepare reports and presentations for both local leadership and international stakeholders
Requirements
* MUST: 3–5 years of experience in vehicle portfolio management/product management or a similar commercial role, ideally within the automotive industry
* MUST: Fluency in English
* Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities
* Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms is a plus
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in international environments
* University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
* Professional German proficiency is highly preferred for local stakeholder management
* Willingness to travel internationally a few times per year for manufacturer meetings and industry events
