PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE, is currently seeking applications for the position of Technical Sales Manager, Flame Resistant Clothing (FR) in Germany or Austria, covering both countries on a permanent basis. The role reports to the Sales Director of EU North. Portwest was founded in 1904 and is one of the fastest growing workwear companies in the world, employing over 5,300 staff. With 1,400 styles across more than 20 ranges, we design, manufacture and distribute market leading workwear, safety wear and PPE in fully owned production facilities. Job Summary
Portwest seeks an experienced Sales Manager with in-depth technical knowledge of Flame Resistance (FR). The role focuses on sales and supporting customers to grow to their full potential. You should have prior experience selling to both distributors and end-users. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment as part of a sales team responsible for supporting customers, providing solutions, and driving growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive growth and increase sales of FR in your region through technical expertise and customer-facing experience.
* Work with your Regional Sales Manager to develop a strategy and market plan to maximise opportunities and drive FR growth in your region.
* Identify opportunities to grow Portwest FR at both distributor and end-user levels.
* Provide technical expertise and advice to Portwest distributors, prospects, and end-users and cultivate strong, long-term business relationships.
* Accompany Portwest distributors on joint sales calls to end-users to support them with FR knowledge and expertise.
* Deliver technical FR training to Portwest distributors, prospects, and end-users, both digitally and in-person.
* Deliver technical FR training to Portwest sales teams and support them to increase FR sales in their area, and facilitate training for other Portwest employees who are FR stakeholders.
* Identify potential gaps in the Portwest FR offering and work with the Product Team to develop and enhance the FR range.
* Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to advise on sales content creation to drive FR growth.
Requirements
* 4–7+ years’ experience selling flame resistant products.
* In-depth technical knowledge of flame-resistant products.
* In-depth knowledge of the Workwear and PPE Industry.
* Experience selling to both distributors and end-users.
* Experience delivering detailed technical FR training at distributor and end-user levels.
* Project management skills and experience.
* Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
* Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
