We are recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer (m/w/d) on a fixed‑term contract of 2 years, 20 hours per week, at our Vienna site. The role is part of the Research & Development department, where you will collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams on complex technical solutions for biological and industrial sample preparation for electron microscopy.
* Conception and development of mechatronic assemblies within the Mechanical Design team, coordinating with the Lead Engineer, SW/ Electronics development, product management and production.
* Participation in projects for new product development and product maintenance.
* Involvement in feasibility studies, including technology scouting and concept development.
* Verification and testing, including documentation of performance.
* Successfully completed technical education (HTL or Bachelor) in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
* Fluent in German and English.
* Strong CAD skills in Creo/Creo Simulate and experience with Windchill PLM.
* Good knowledge of vacuum technology and cryo applications.
* Excellent material knowledge (selection and behavior of materials).
