As a Senior Staff Engineer Ion Trap Development in our Research & Development team, you will have the opportunity to merge creativity with your technical expertise by shaping the future of technology, driving groundbreaking projects and bringing new ideas to life.
Your Role
Key responsibilities in your new role:
* Develop and support motor drives applications (48VDC‑400VDC) for various industries, such as robotics, drones, and power tools.
* Define and develop new MOSFET technology to best fit application needs, driving innovation and system‑level advancements.
* Drive technical Go‑to‑Market activities, including creating application notes, design demo boards, and run system simulations to secure design‑win.
* Provide 3rd level technical support to field application engineers and customers on application level with system simulations, and hardware builds.
* Engage with customers through on‑site visits, technical trainings, and cooperation projects to drive design‑in activities, problem‑solving, and knowledge sharing.
* Conduct lab measurements and contribute to lab automation enhancements to ensure efficient and accurate testing and development.
* Foster innovation and know‑how on a system level through customer engagement, cooperation projects, and internal collaboration, enabling the development of new and improved motor drive applications.
Qualifications and Skills
* A university or university of applied sciences degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, Physics or comparable, ideally with focus on power electronics and MCU firmware.
* At least 3 years of working experience in the semiconductor or power electronics industry.
* System understanding and a background in power electronics and motor drive applications.
* Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Simetrics, LTSpice, Simulink) and math calculation tools (e.g., Matlab, Excel), programming skills (e.g., embedded programming for MCUs, C#, Python, FPGA programming).
* Experience with lab measurements operating scopes, DVM, power analyzers, but also soldering and assembling prototype boards.
* International business trips are required.
* Fluency in English (German language skills are an advantage).
This position is limited to 1 year. The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group G‑H (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/minimum-salaries-white-collar-workers-2024.pdf). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
