Headquartered in Hengyang, Hunan, China, the company has grown into one of the largest transformer manufacturers in the world, ranked first in China and among the top three globally in production capacity, particularly for ultra‑high voltage (UHV) and extra‑high voltage transformers.
Their products support the backbone of power networks, including grid transmission, large thermal and hydroelectric plants, nuclear facilities, and renewable integration projects. Its equipment is used extensively in national flagship programs like the Three Gorges Project and the West–East Electricity Transmission Project, and it participates in global markets across Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
Our client is seeking a Key Account Manager based in Austria, who is going to develop and manage long‑term strategic relationships with key customers, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and profitable order intake. Acting as the primary commercial interface, the role drives the full sales cycle, from early project engagement and tendering through contract negotiation and delivery – while coordinating closely with technical, project, and manufacturing teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.
Responsibilities
* Manage and develop key accounts including TSOs, DSOs, grid operators and utilities.
* Act as the primary commercial interface for strategic customers, building long‑term relationships at technical, commercial, and executive levels.
* Lead the sales cycle for HV transformer projects, from early engagement and tendering to contract negotiation and order intake.
* Coordinate technical proposals and bids, working closely with engineering, tendering, and project teams to ensure compliance with grid codes, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
* Negotiate commercial terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, warranties, payment milestones, and contractual risk allocation.
* Support customers during project development, grid connection, and construction phases, ensuring alignment with project timelines and milestones.
* Monitor and manage order backlog, forecasts, and pipeline, ensuring accurate sales planning and reporting.
* Collaborate with project management and manufacturing teams to support execution, delivery, FAT/SAT, and handover.
* Manage after‑sales and lifecycle topics, including service agreements, upgrades, spare parts, and long‑term framework contracts.
* Track market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments impacting transmission and grid investments.
* Support strategic account planning, framework agreements, and long‑term supply partnerships.
* Ensure compliance with internal governance, approval processes, and ethical standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline; MBA preferred.
* Solid understanding of HV transformer technology, utility‑scale tendering processes, and large project contracts.
* Demonstrated experience working with utilities, grid operators, and transmission‑level tenders.
* Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage long sales cycles.
* Ability to operate independently in a startup‑style market environment and support regional market growth.
* Proven capability to build long‑term customer relationships and develop new markets.
* Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus.
