Your role — Build, improve, and scale backend systems
* Develop APIs and services: You design and maintain robust backend services that provide weather data to a global customer base.
* Work on scalable systems: Together with the team, build scalable and reliable architectures with a strong focus on performance and maintainability.
* Turn data into products: Transform complex meteorological and geospatial datasets into impactful, customer-facing solutions (e.g., APIs and platforms).
* Hands-on development: Build efficient backend systems using Python, Flask/Django, PostgreSQL, and caching solutions such as Memcached.
* Improve existing systems: Analyze and optimize existing services to enhance performance, stability, and efficiency.
* Work with modern technologies: Explore and apply new approaches, including GenAI-supported workflows and automation, to improve development processes and system capabilities.
* Collaborate across teams: You work closely with developers, data scientists, and meteorologists to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions.
What you bring — Your profile
* 3 - 5 years of professional experience in backend development
* Strong programming skills in Python
* Experience with frameworks such as Flask or Django
* Solid understanding of Linux-based environments
* Basic to solid database knowledge, ideally PostgreSQL
* Interest in modern technologies, including AI/GenAI applications
* Analytical mindset and willingness to learn and grow
* Experience with geospatial data is a plus
* Very good English skills; German is a plus

Salary
The annual gross salary for this position starts at €40,347.58. Depending on your experience and qualifications, the typical range for this role is €50,000 to €60,000.
