About The Position
We’re looking for a proactive and experienced professional to join us as Governance, Risk & Compliance Lead. In this role, you will serve as our Anti-Money Laundering Officer (AMLO) and Risk Officer, while driving compliance and risk efforts with strategic insight and hands-on execution. You will also lead, manage, and develop a small, dedicated team across these functions.
Your Responsibilities
1. Anti-Money Laundering (AML):
o Act as the AMLO with end-to-end responsibility.
o Maintain AML guidelines and oversee their implementation.
o Conduct ongoing control governance and annual audits in collaboration with Internal Audit.
o Lead, manage, and support the professional development of AML-focused team members.
2. Compliance (e.g., CoI, Written Framework, ICS, Whistleblowing):
o Serve as the Compliance Officer responsible for maintaining and evolving internal frameworks and controls.
o Oversee the Conflicts of Interest (CoI) register and related processes.
o Maintain and develop internal control systems (ICS), written guidelines, and workflows.
3. Risk Management:
o Serve as the Risk Officer with end-to-end responsibility.
o Maintain risk guidelines and workflows.
o Lead annual risk assessments and manage the internal risk register.
o Oversee third-party risk management processes.
4. Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG):
o Ensure ESG is embedded in all relevant business processes.
o Own the ESG Policy and related documentation.
o Represent Speedinvest in industry bodies dedicated to ESG in VC (e.g., Venture ESG).
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Work closely with internal stakeholders including Internal Audit, Legal, and Finance.
o Represent Speedinvest in interactions with external stakeholders such as regulators, industry bodies, and associations.
o Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing within your team and across teams.
Your Qualifications
* 5-7 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Risk Management, or Legal roles in a regulated environment (e.g., law firm, regulatory authority, audit or consulting firm, bank, or financial institution).
* Basic understanding of investment funds and their operations.
* Strong knowledge of AML regulations.
* Knowledge of AIFMD, EuVECA laws is a plus.
* Structured and analytical mindset, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practice.
* Experience with internal and external auditors.
* Collaborative leadership style.
* Confidence in navigating evolving regulatory requirements proactively.
* Fluency in both English and German.

According to Austrian law, the minimum gross annual salary for this full-time role is EUR 90,000. Salary will be competitive based on experience, with potential overpayment.
