As a Trapped-Ion Development Engineer, you will become part of a highly motivated, global team committed to realizing the potential of quantum computing. You will collaborate closely with esteemed clients and academic collaborators, taking charge of the advancement of trapped-ion quantum processors (ionQPUs). This will involve spearheading the industrialization of ionQPUs through the integration of multiple chips, driving the development of this cutting-edge technology.
In your new role you will:
* Drive technology development for trapped-ion quantum processors, with focus scaling towards very large chips
* Co-develop the next generations of QPUs with our commercial partners
* Enable the research community through projects with academic partners
* Supervise master and PhD students
You are a proactive individual with a passion for new technologies and eager to join us on our quest to create a more sustainable future for everyone. In addition, you define yourself through clear communication and as a team player.
To thrive on your quantum adventure, you should:
* Have a PhD in physics, quantum engineering, computational physics or similar
* Bring more than five years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum optics, and/or (trapped-ion) quantum computing
* Be a highly motivated individual who wants quantum computing to become a reality
* Be fluent in English, German skills or the willingness to learn is a plus
The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H ( The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
