Job Summary
An opportunity exists for an experienced and capable Lead Auditor in a boutique Chartered Accounting firm dealing with Not for Profit and statutory audits. Our firm offers both traditional accounting services and an array of supplementary services to provide a full suite to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver statutory audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of companies, trusts, not‑for‑profit organisations, strata corporations, SMSF audits and other statutory bodies, ensuring high‑quality outcomes and strong client service.
Contribute to the delivery of external audits by assisting with planning, conducting fieldwork and testing and completing audit procedures in line with ASA standards.
Prepare draft audit reports, management letters, and completion memoranda for Manager and Partner review.
Prepare and support the review of financial statements to ensure compliance with relevant AASB requirements and reporting frameworks.
Prepare high‑quality, accurate workpapers aligned with established firm methodology.
Demonstrate professional scepticism and curiosity to assess risk, detect control weaknesses, and recommend process enhancements.
Manage workloads to meet budgets, productivity targets, and deadlines, proactively escalating any emerging issues.
Act as the primary day‑to‑day contact for a portfolio of audit clients.
Qualifications
* CA or CPA qualified (or near completion).
* 2-3 years' experience in a professional services or audit/assurance environment.
* Proven external audit experience within a professional services environment.
* Strong understanding of Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards.
* Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
* An interest in developing tax knowledge and skills.
* Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency at the time of applying.
