We are now looking for an Engineering Team Lead that will be responsible for the overall engineering and design of project-specific Process Control System solutions within the applications engineering field, to meet the requirements of both end-users and Emerson Process Management business. You will lead and coach the Austrian DeltaV Engineering team to build and maintain an environment where team members enjoy working and providing the best services and solutions in Austria. Additionally, you could be personally engaged in DeltaV engineering and support activities and act as Control Systems Lead Engineer on assigned projects, focusing on the overall design and engineering of the projects.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
1. As Engineering Team Leader:
2. Leads, manages, and develops the Engineering Team in Austria.
3. Develops, applies, and introduces new and efficient engineering strategies, methods, and services to support the development and profitability of the Austrian Engineering team.
4. Works closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure that adequate engineering capabilities and resources are available to support all engineering activities within Austria.
5. Supports the Engineering Manager to achieve key metrics for Productivity, Safety, Maturity, and Engineering Management pillars.
6. Collaborates with the Project Management team to ensure engineering activities are completed on time and within budget.
7. Coordinates all technical issues related to engineering activities with the team, clients, and other stakeholders.
8. Ensures the engineering team is properly trained, equipped, and developed to meet current and future business needs.
9. Maintains compliance with safety legislation and quality requirements.
10. Owns and maintains engineering service-related ISO procedures and work instructions.
As Control Systems Lead Engineer:
1. Works closely with the Project Manager to ensure project completion within scope, time, and budget.
2. Leads the project team in cooperation with the Project Manager.
3. Coordinates technical issues related to the project with the team and clients.
4. Assigns engineering activities, monitors project performance and progress.
5. Ensures application of effective engineering techniques and tools following PMO standards.
6. Responsible for the technical correctness of software and user documentation.
7. Oversees validation activities for DCS qualifications, including test protocols and reporting.
In Summary:
1. Provides technical expertise on DeltaV and other control systems.
2. Assists sales with demonstrations, presentations, and service estimates.
3. In this dual role, dedicates approximately 80% of time as Control Systems Lead Engineer and 20% as Engineering Team Leader.
Who You Are:
You build and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations, demonstrate a can-do attitude, and are consistent in words and actions. You are proactive, gather insights from colleagues, and independently implement tasks.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree with at least 7 years of experience in control engineering projects, preferably in process industries.
* Fluent in German and good in English.
* Professional attitude, technical orientation, customer focus, team-oriented, flexible, and self-motivated.
* Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel internationally.
* Experience leading engineering or project teams of at least 5 engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Background in Electrical or Process Automation Engineering.
* Knowledge of GAMP, S88, S95, validation, and Life Science automation.
* Strong knowledge of Process Automation, DCS, PLC, control strategies, commissioning, and start-up of DeltaV systems.
