At our location in Graz or any other ANDRITZ location in Europe we are looking for a Material Expert (m/f/d) with a special focus on metallic materials to strengthen our Group Quality & Safety Management team.

Responsibilities
* Material consultancy and failure analysis: Support ANDRITZ managers and engineers with in-depth knowledge in stainless steel, low alloy steel and other metallic materials. Support with expertise in alloy design, properties and manufacturing based on machine and process requirements.
* Provide expert consultation in corrosion, material selection and metallurgy.
* Conduct material failure analyses to determine root causes and propose mitigation strategies.
* Support quality engineers in issuing technical delivery rules and dealing with non-conformities.
* Plan and execute material projects in alignment with R&D and engineering managers. Work in interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative, comprehensive technical solutions.
* Collaborate closely with national and international material research and testing institutes.
Technical consultancy
* FMEA: Moderate FMEAs for projects that require them before the Digital Approval according to the Quotation Review Policy. Be prepared to take over a share of those moderations after training.
* Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Identify fundamental causes of problems and assist the organization in performing RCAs.
* Promote communication: Prepare Best Practice and Success Stories for R&D Services publications on Sharepoint.
Your profile
* Master’s degree in Material Science or Metallurgy; a PhD is welcome to demonstrate ability to solve complex tasks.
* Experience in alloy design, microstructure-property relationships and manufacturing of stainless and low alloy steel; expertise in other metallic materials is welcome.
* Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms in metallic materials and experience planning and conducting corrosion experiments.
* Willingness and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
* Good level of English and German, written and spoken. Other languages are a plus.
* Strong interpersonal and team-working skills, sound judgment and decision-making skills.
* Ability to maintain strong network relations to stakeholders within a global organization.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand technical problems in design, engineering, and operation of machines and processes and to identify material-based solutions.
* Ability to work on multiple projects in a highly structured and organized manner.
* Good knowledge of MS Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Power Point, Copilot).
* Willingness to travel up to 30% to our locations, factories and construction sites worldwide.

In Austria we are legally obliged to announce at least a gross monthly salary of €4.545,33 for this position. Depending on qualifications and professional experience we offer you a market-based salary.
