Implementation Specialist (Communications & Knowledge Management)
Grade: 7 • Contract: Temp – Monthly (6months) • Salary: CHF8024 per month.
Overview
Supports the Secretariat’s Strategy2030 implementation and the Knowledge Hub strategic goal within the Strategy, Planning and Transformation (SPT) Division of the WTO Secretariat.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce explanatory materials, intranet articles, and varied communications for staff, including speaking notes and reports for senior management.
* Support the preparation and delivery of progress reports to senior management, advising on reporting structure, format standardisation, and content optimisation.
* Design and implement templates for regular reporting to stakeholders, including WTO members at the Committee on Budget, Finance and Administration (CBFA).
* Conduct reviews of existing reporting practices both within the WTO and in comparable international organisations.
* Plan and organise stakeholder engagement events and outreach activities.
* Establish and maintain a reporting and monitoring framework for strategy implementation, with strong emphasis on communication channels and the development of tools and standardised templates.
* Monitor and follow up on audit recommendations, ensuring structured reporting, regular communication and coordination with responsible divisions.
* Assist in building a culture of innovation within the Secretariat.
Required Qualifications
* University degree in communications, public or business administration, international relations, law, economics or a related discipline.
* At least 3years of experience in strategy, communications, monitoring & evaluation, project management, business administration or international trade.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; proficiency in French and/or Spanish is an asset.
* Strong organisational and multi‑tasking abilities, with a proven capacity to translate technical information into clear narratives and communication plans.
* Experience setting up end‑to‑end reporting workflows, using analytics to refine content and demonstrate impact.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); knowledge of AI, digital tools, video editing, visual storytelling, or data visualisation is an asset.
* Asset: experience in strategy development and implementation; change, project, or knowledge management; stakeholder engagement; monitoring and evaluation; communications; data analytics; data visualisation; agile ways of working.
