As a Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving our business forward by providing technical expertise and support to our sales team. You will engage with customers to understand their unique challenges and demonstrate how Denodo's data virtualization platform can meet and exceed their needs.

The selected candidate will work closely with experienced Sales, Marketing, and Product Management personnel and will be supported by a strong technical team in an ideal, fast-paced, rapidly growing startup environment to grow professionally and go beyond expectations.

Salary Range: 170k y 195k + commissions


Job Responsibilities & Duties

As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will employ a combination of high technical expertise, client communication, and coordination skills between clients and internal Denodo teams to achieve your mission.

Product and Technical Knowledge:

* Obtain and maintain strong knowledge of the Denodo Platform, including an overview of our key and advanced features, benefits, services offerings, differentiation, and competitive positioning.
* Address technical questions concerning customization, integration, enterprise architecture, and general features/functionality of our platform.
* Develop compelling product demonstrations, showcasing capabilities and benefits, tailored to customer needs.
* Lead and participate in proof-of-concepts (POCs), ensuring customers understand the value of Denodo's solutions.
* Provide feedback to Product Management, Sales, Support, and Development regarding customer requirements and issues.

Presentation and Organizational Skills:

* Train and engage customers on the product architecture, configuration, and use of the Denodo Platform.
* Know escalation paths within Denodo’s technical organization.
* Present software solutions to prospective customers, including IT managers, technicians, and C-level executives.
* Lead RFI and RFP processes.
* Manage client expectations, establish credibility, and build problem-solving partnerships.
* Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to develop and present demos and PoCs.
* Provide technical support to the sales team, handle questions, conduct training, and briefings.
* Document activities in CRM and internal wiki, including lead data, activity reports, architecture details, and challenges.


Desired Skills & Experience

Experience Required

* BS or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years as a Sales/Solution Engineer, Systems Engineer, Consultant, or Enterprise Architect, preferably in data management or analytics software.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks is a plus.
* Security clearance required.
* A proactive, positive attitude.

Hands-on experience in:

* SQL, relational and analytical databases, query optimization.
* Data Integration methods (ETL, Data Warehousing, ESB, Messaging, DV).
* Big Data, NoSQL, in-memory, MPP environments (preferred).
* JDBC/ODBC, XML, JSON, REST APIs, Java, version control.
* Willingness to travel up to 10%.
* Experience leveraging social media for networking and brand visibility (nice to have).
