About the Role
Senior MicroStation Digital Drafter is responsible for the detailed design and preparation of digital drawing production and digital outputs. The role encompasses all aspects of CAD (DGN) operations throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design development to final As-Built documentation. This position also contributes to the advancement of digital engineering capabilities and supports continuous improvement in the application of BIM (Building Information Modelling) and related technologies.
* Collaborate with engineers and project teams to deliver projects on time and to specification.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders
* Apply established engineering principles and standards in the design and preparation of drawings.
* Lead the preparation of detailed systems drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.
* Develop standard drawing conventions and integration of 2D and 3D CAD data with BIM processes.
* Develop efficient and productive processes to meet CAD (DGN) deliverables.
* ProjectWise integration is key to package deliverables, experience with managing outputs to PW is highly regarded.
* Support digital goals and objectives across the project in line with the CAD Management Plan and the DEMP.
* Support BIM implementation initiatives with minimal disruption to active project deliverables.
About You
* 5+ years’ experience in detail modelling and drafting, coordination, documentation with a solid technical understanding of relevant disciplines for Major Projects, Transport, or Infrastructure projects.
* Experience with compliance with QR and TMR requirements is highly regarded.
* Familiarity with technical discipline standards including ISO19650 standards.
* Expert skill level using various DE authoring software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, (preferable also: Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, etc)
* Preferred experience with other interfacing software packages such as Automation tools, MicroStation macros, Python C# Dynamo, MS Tools, Primavera P6, etc.
* Experience of design and constructability principles for Signals and Controls systems.
* Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
