Your tasks and responsibilities
* Responsible for project controlling and administrative management of third-party funded projects.
* Provide proactive guidance to scientific project leaders on financial and administrative matters.
* Prepare compliant financial reports (e.g., EU, FFG, FWF) in line with funder rules, internal policies, and national regulations.
* Coordinate internal and external audits; maintain audit-ready documentation and oversee follow-up to implement improvements.
* Design and refine post-award processes and internal controls for third-party funds.
* Develop and maintain reporting tools to enhance data quality and KPIs.
* Serve as the primary post-award contact for funding agencies and consortium partners; collaborate with pre-award and legal colleagues on budgeting and contractual compliance.
Your strengths and skills
* University degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Controlling or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in project controlling, research administration, auditing, or financial management.
* Demonstrated experience with public grants - preferably research funding (e.g., Horizon Europe, FFG and FWF), and a proven ability to interpret and apply funding eligibility rules.
* Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and reporting/BI tools is highly desirable.
* English and German at a minimum level C1.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail; strong analytical skills.
* Professional communication and strong collaboration competencies across diverse stakeholder groups.
