Get experience in a wide range of power plant technologies including biomass, municipal waste, geothermal, hydrogen, fossil fuel, carbon capture, battery energy storage, hydro, gas turbine, and solar.
Your Impact
* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
* Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
* Design light foundations and structures for solar farms, battery energy storage facilities, and wind projects
* Design heavy foundations and structures for large power generation projects: generators, turbines, transformers, pipe racks, gas compressors, metal building systems, and masonry walls and buildings.
* Design structural steel systems for buildings, equipment supports, etc.
* Entry-level structural engineer with interest in structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry analysis and design engineering
* Familiarity with structural analysis and design software
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to travel to project and jobsites to walkdown sites, interface with clients, and field verify conditions (5%-10%)
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
* College graduate to 3 years of structural engineering experience
* BS Degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering
* Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to interface with drafters/designers
Preferred Qualifications
* BS Degree in Structural Engineering
* EIT obtained
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, individually, and as part of a project team
* Knowledge and/or ability to learn 3D modeling/analysis software (RISA, STAAD)
* Familiarity with power generation, transmission, and distribution projects
* Basic knowledge of building codes and material specifications Civil-Site design
* Exposure to Geotechnical engineering experience
* Exposure to Pre-Engineered Metal Building Systems
* Exposure to Seismic analysis and design
* Exposure to Dynamic foundation analysis
