Candidate
We are looking for a Drone Software & Hardware Integration Engineer (m/f/x) to join our team in Vienna, Austria. You will be part of an international team focusing on the constant development and testing of the UAV systems used for Ventus innovative and patented Dynamic Drone Relative Blade Pitch Misalignment (DDRBPM) service, as well as supporting and performing test flights for assessment of the developed UAS. This service has been certified by DNV according to the standard ‘DNV –SE– 0439‑2021‑10 Certification of Condition Monitoring for Wind Turbines’.
Your Tasks
 * Explore, develop, and deploy novel hardware & software features for the current and future DRBPM UAV platform
 * Integrate, test, and validate new UAV sensors and cameras
 * Prepare test procedures, validate the functionality of each sensor firmware and the whole system, conduct flight simulation and field testing
 * Perform field test flights for assessment of the developed UAS (Drone piloting skills required)
 * Participate in demo projects for further assessment of the stability and functionality of current and future DRBPM UAV platform
 * Design prototypes for DRBPM UAV payload & Rapid prototyping via 3D printing
Profile
 * University Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another related field
 * Understanding of UAV electronics and multi‑copter development and principles of operation
 * Industry experience in developing UAVs/robotics using C/C++, Python and Linux
 * Experience with flight control systems such as PX4 flight stack / QGroundcontrol / Ardupilot flight stack, Dronecode SDK, MAVLink protocol and low‑level communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN)
 * UAV piloting skills and a valid license
 * CAD design & rapid prototyping via 3D printing
 * Strong problem‑solving skills, curious, resourceful and agile mindset
 * Good written and spoken English (corporate working language)

 * According to Austrian law the minimum gross annual salary for this position is €49 000 (40 h/week, 14 salary checks). We are ready to pay more depending on qualifications, experience and individual competencies.
