Associate Marketing Operations Strategist role at Toptal. This is a remote position. We do not offer visa sponsorship or assistance. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.
Responsibilities
 * Project manage initiatives and projects across marketing functions, ensuring alignment with business needs, utilizing our in-house operations management tools.
 * Manage workflows, improve processes, and facilitate review cycles to deliver projects on time and with quality, ensuring that project management tools like Asana are reporting accurate and helpful information.
 * Perform regular and ad-hoc analyses using SQL, Google Sheets, or other reporting tools to provide actionable insights and verify activities.
 * Support lifecycle and campaign operations in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and HubSpot (segmentation, QA, scheduling, tracking, and reporting).
Expectations by period
 1. In the first week – Onboard and review operating frameworks (OKRs, RACIs, intake models); participate in training; meet team and stakeholders; familiarize with critical business tools and vendors.
 2. In the first month – Audit current boards, queues, and reporting; write clear briefs; understand Toptal’s business and marketing approach.
 3. In the first three months – Maintain marketing libraries and data accuracy; facilitate cross-functional communication; contribute to planning and executing marketing automation campaigns (Salesforce Marketing Cloud and HubSpot); exercise discretion and independent judgment.
 4. In the first six months – Identify opportunities to optimize processes; establish playbooks and dashboards used by senior stakeholders.
 5. In the first year – Operate as a project manager on key marketing projects; own processes for specific channels; collaborate on growth opportunities and help design new marketing processes and operations.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
 * Bachelor’s degree is required.
 * 2-4+ years of marketing operations, project management, campaign execution, or comparable experience.
 * Data-driven with strong spreadsheet skills; working knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel required; SQL or Power BI is preferred.
 * Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or HubSpot, including segmentation, automation, QA, and reporting.
 * Strong project management skills and ability to document processes; experience with Asana is preferred.
 * Experience supporting creative workflows, including intake, briefs, and QA.
 * Process-oriented with a focus on scalable, repeatable processes; familiarity with process modeling or AI-driven automation is a plus.
 * Proactive and adaptable in fast-paced environments; able to keep projects on track.
 * Strong cross-team collaboration, growth mindset, and commitment to continuous improvement.
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient with collaboration tools (Slack) and presentation tools (Slides).
 * Ability to work in a fast-growing company across a diverse set of challenges and deadlines.
 * Must be a world-class individual contributor and actively contribute rather than just direct others.
