About the Opportunity
Western Sydney University is seeking a Senior Analyst, Financial Analysis and Commercial Evaluation to join the Office of Finance. This role is integral to shaping the University’s financial strategies by delivering high‑quality evaluations, business assessments, and financial modelling. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, the position supports informed decision‑making on complex projects and strategic initiatives.
Working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders, the Senior Analyst will provide insights that influence operational and commercial activities, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and business practices remain sustainable. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys applying analytical expertise to high‑impact projects.
This is a full‑time, fixed‑term position until 30 June 2026. The position is based at Western’s Hawkesbury (Richmond) Campus although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored financial evaluations, business assessments, and modelling to support strategic initiatives and commercial projects.
* Develop accurate financial models, analysis tools, and business cases in collaboration with senior colleagues and stakeholders.
* Provide strategic financial planning advice and contribute to policy development and commercial negotiations.
* Assist with budget development, strategic planning processes, and financial management initiatives.
* Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the University and with external partners.
* Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and decision‑support tools.
Who we’re looking for
* A degree in business, economics, or finance, with postgraduate qualifications (or progress towards them) highly regarded.
* Proven experience in financial modelling, project evaluation, and delivering actionable financial insights.
* Strong understanding of corporate finance, with knowledge of Activity Based Costing and/or Project Costing, preferably within a higher education or complex organisational environment.
* Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and explain financial concepts clearly.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce concise, accurate, and meaningful reports and analysis.
* Strong organisational and analytical abilities, including the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes under pressure.
* A proactive mindset with the ability to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 8 $138,029 to $153,227 p.a. (comprising Salary of $116,636 to $129,479 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
