Researcher (PostDoc) in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (all genders) – Full‑time (40 h/w) – Vienna, Austria
Modul University Vienna’s Vienna Institute for Global Studies (VIGS Institute) is seeking two outstanding scholars for research positions (PostDoc) to conduct research in entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial ecosystems and innovation, and to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. The role also offers opportunities to lead strategic projects such as the development of the Modul University Vienna Start‑up Hub.
Responsibilities
* Teach and conduct examinations independently; standard teaching load of 5 units/week per semester (1 unit = 45 min of teaching).
* Deliver courses on entrepreneurship, new venture creation, managing high‑growth firms, public policy and ecosystem development.
* Build relationships with industry stakeholders and develop applied research addressing current and future startup‑ecosystem challenges.
* Contribute to the academic self‑administration duties of the VIGS Institute.
Profile
* Doctorate in economics, business administration, management, or a related social science field.
* Evidence of research potential, preferably focusing on new technologies such as complexity science, network analysis or big‑data analytics.
* Profound knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
* Commitment to high‑quality teaching, including experiential learning.
* Ability to teach entrepreneurship, innovation and related courses.
* Ability to attract external funding to support research and to build collaborative programmes with universities, research institutes and industry.
* Excellent spoken and written English; German language proficiency is welcome.

Contract & Compensation
Full‑time, fixed‑term two‑year contract, 40 hours per week (overtime available). The base salary is EUR 50,000 before taxes, plus approx. 30% employer contribution to social security and pension as per Austrian law. Additional remuneration is available for extra teaching or supervising theses.
