Your Responsibilities
* Autonomous research and publication activities in the field of micropaleontology and paleoceanography
* Participation in existing research projects and development of new research projects in the field of micropaleontology and paleoceanography
* Possibility to work on a habilitation project
* Application for third-party funded projects
* Independent teaching of courses and conducting of examinations
* Professional and organizational supervision of students of the Department of Earth Sciences
* Participation in organizational and administrative tasks, as well as in evaluation measures
Your Profile
* Excellent written and spoken knowledge of the following languages: English
* Very good IT skills, especially in connection with digital teaching
* High level of commitment and motivation for scientific work
* High degree of personal responsibility and ability to cooperate
* Strong teamwork and organizational skills
* Excellent understanding of benthic and planktonic foraminifer taxonomy and their application as paleoecological proxies (desired)

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 71,113.00 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.

Organisational Unit
The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Graz comprises the disciplines of geology, petrology and geochemistry, hydrogeology, as well as paleontology and stratigraphy. We thus cover a broad spectrum of earth science research topics, dealing with "Biodiversity and Evolution", "Climate and Environment" and "Solid Earth Dynamics". Our research foci offer a holistic understanding of Earth system processes. From the processes that we reconstruct from the past, we can create models for the future development of planet Earth.
