Position: Head of Maintenance (m/f/d)
Location: Graz, Austria
Reporting line to Head of Engineering (Site Leadership team member)

Key Responsibilities
Lead the Maintenance department, overseeing a team of currently27 employees.
Provide disciplinary and technical leadership, fostering professional development and continuous improvement within the team.
Ensure efficient organizational structures, promote talent development, and strengthen departmental capabilities.
Lead by data by implementing Lean tools
Maintenance Operations & Optimization
Plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance activities for pharmaceutical production equipment and machinery.
Ensure proper documentation of all executed maintenance work in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
Continuously improve maintenance activities, workflows, and operational processes to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Develop and implement cost‑efficient maintenance strategies to support long‑term asset performance by implementing TPM strategies.
Project & Process Management
Lead and manage optimization projects within the maintenance function.
Drive process improvements, digitalization initiatives, and technical upgrades to enhance equipment availability and compliance.
Training, Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and maintain technical work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Develop training materials and conduct technical training sessions for maintenance staff.
Represent the Maintenance department during internal audits, as well as customer and regulatory inspections.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work in close partnership with Production, Visual Inspection & Packaging, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management and Environment, Health & Safety.
Ensure strong communication and alignment across all operational and quality‑related functions.
Your Profile
Completed technical education (university, university of applied sciences, or technical college)
5-10 years of experience in leading a maintenance organization within the Pharmaceutical or Food industry with GMP exposure
Strong passion for maintenance, occupational safety and quality
Service-oriented mindset and a high affinity for automated processes
Strong process and quality orientation, paired with excellent analytical and evaluation skills
Proven leadership and management capabilities with a strong team-oriented approach
High level of personal responsibility and strong communication skills
Very good written and spoken German & English skills
