YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION
We are actively building our data infrastructure and you will grow with it. The warehouse is under construction, the first pipelines are running and our AI strategy is clearly defined. What is still missing is the person who can bring this together, support it in the long term and actively help shape it.
Your everyday life is not a ticket queue. Some weeks you build pipeline infrastructure, other weeks you sit down with the operations managers or account management and understand what data they really need before you deliver it.
You build and operate our PostgreSQL data warehouse as the central database for all systems. You develop the pipelines that automatically synchronize our data on a daily basis and ensure that they run even when no one is looking. You connect external systems via API and build a transformation layer in dbt in which business logic is defined once and does not have to be reinvented in every dashboard and for every agent. You implement data quality monitoring that recognizes problems before they catch anyone in practice. And you actively contribute to our AI architecture: from the database to pgvector-based RAG setups to specialized agents working on the warehouse.
You get real ownership over architecture decisions that have an impact, turn our strategy into reality and build the data backbone of keyone without legacy ballast and without marathon coordination. You have a say in how you build things. What you build here will be the basis for something in three years' time that we don't have yet. That is your mission. You decide what it looks like.
What your tasks & responsibilities include:
* Designing, building and operating our PostgreSQL data warehouse as a central, GDPR-compliant database
* Development and maintenance of automated self-hosted ingestion pipelines from Salesforce (CRM) and other source systems
* API connection to external systems: Deskline (property management system), DATEV (accounting software) and future sources
* Provision of warehouse data via clean APIs and database connections - for Tableau dashboards, internal apps and AI agents
* Development of the transformation layer incl. staging/mart structure, standardized metric definitions and cross-source dbt models
* Implementation of data quality monitoring
* Development of workflow automations for agent-supported processes
* Long-term: Active co-design of our AI architecture: pgvector-based RAG setups, specialized agents on the warehouse, multi-agent orchestration
What you should bring along:
* Work permit for Austria or the EU
* 3+ years of experience in building and managing relational databases and object relational mapping, ideally PostgreSQL
* Hands-on experience with cloud database services
* Solid Python skills for data pipelines and API connections
* Confident handling of REST APIs and Git
* Talent for troubleshooting and debugging
* Good written and spoken English skills
Nice to have:
* Salesforce data structures or comparable CRM systems
* Experience with dbt or comparable transformation frameworks
* Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster or similar)
* n8n in the context of AI automations and agent workflows
* Data quality tooling (Great Expectations, Soda, etc.)
* LLM APIs or vector databases
