As a Cloud API Development Specialist, you will execute specialized REST API and OpenAPI development tasks, leveraging your expertise in both statically type-safe and dynamically typed languages, preferably Java and JavaScript.
You will contribute to the enhancement of our platform capabilities within a cloud environment, preferably GCP or AWS.
Ownership:
1. Independently discern optimal solutions to tackle complex, loosely defined problems giving the freedom to propose and implement optimal solutions
Technology Skills:
2. Independently plan and design architecture/projects, ensuring alignment with Assistant Director: Identify multiple viable solutions for a problem and their implications as well as architecture Evaluate the pros and cons of each solution, considering the given specification and anticipated architecture strategy Efficiently present and argue about architecture to receive a decision, excluding irrelevant factors Show critical judgement in assessing the benefits of a change against its implications in both local as well as global scope
3. Actively participate in and ensure system stability (preemptively during CRs/PRs and actively during outages)

Qualifications/Required Background:
11. 3 to 5+ years of work experience in similar positions or a comparable university degree covering relevant competencies
12. Experience working with international teams or excellent English skills
13. Knowledge of api development/technology/security standards, protocols, and best practices
14. Experience with statically type safe languages such as Java, and dynamically typed languages like JavaScript
15. Basic proficiency in CloudOps tools like Terraform and Ansible (or comparable technologies and tools)
16. Experience with Apigee, Devportal, PHP and Drupal
17. Knowledge of DevOps and/or CI/CD pipelines, and their use, extension and maintenance
18. Familiarity with Agile Software Development and SDLC best practices
19. Experience with RDBMS, familiarity with MariaDb or Postgress is beneficial
20. Proficiency in code versioning, specifically GIT
21. Beneficial but not strictly required (will need to be learned or swiftly picked up on the job): Fulltext Indexing / Fulltext Search Engines SysOps basics, networking api and security best practices, message passing, asynchronous programming paradigms
Annual base salary gross: €53,900.00 Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
