Who we are...
SUEZ is a global leader in the water and waste management sectors. For more than 160 years, we have been operating across 40 countries, employing over 45,000 people – all united by a single objective: to protect our resources and improve quality of life wherever we operate.
In Australia, SUEZ provides access to drinking water for more than 14 million people and wastewater treatment services for an additional 3.5 million. Our core services include Design & Build, Operations & Maintenance, Build‑Own‑Operate‑Transfer (BOOT), and a variety of long‑term partnership models.
What you will be doing
We have an exciting opportunity for an established Finance Manager to support the Perth Seawater Desalination Plant (PSDP) within our Operations & Maintenance Alliance. The role, reporting to the Alliance Manager and working closely with the Alliance Management Team (AMT), is highly autonomous and will manage a significant yearly budget, playing a pivotal role in the financial and commercial success of the plant.
Key responsibilities include delivering accurate financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support informed decision‑making. You will be accountable for Contractual Finance, understanding the O&M contract to manage invoicing, cost recharge mechanisms, and client reporting. The role also involves driving commerciality by proactively working with the leadership team to improve margin and identify opportunities to optimise the contract baseline.
As the primary financial interface with the client, Alliance partners, and internal stakeholders (from site‑level operators to the Executive team), you will foster transparency and trust. The position requires a forward‑looking approach, impacting both current month performance and the long‑term completion forecast.
Who we are looking for
You are an established and self‑driven Finance Manager who thrives in a highly autonomous and challenging operational environment. You bring strong technical capability in core finance functions combined with exceptional commercial awareness and the drive to lead system change.
You are a natural builder of relationships, highly adaptable, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, from site teams to executives. Your background must include significant experience in Contractual Finance, demonstrating an ability to deeply understand and apply complex contract terms to commercial outcomes.
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is essential, and CA/CPA qualifications are highly regarded. Experience with financial reporting systems and advanced Excel skills are necessary.
SUEZ is an equal opportunity employer and we welcome and encourage applications from Indigenous Australians and Torres Strait Islander people.
To be eligible to apply for this position you must have an appropriate Australian or New Zealand work visa.
