Service Engineer - Air Insulted Switchgear & Generator Circuit Breakers (f/m/d) role at Hitachi Energy
We’re looking for skilled electrical engineers or technicians who are ready to join our high‑voltage service team. If you are open to relocating to Germany, we’ll support your move and provide a home base from which you will travel to projects across the country – and occasionally abroad.
The Opportunity
At Hitachi Energy we design, manufacture and continuously develop advanced high‑voltage systems, including AIS (Air‑Insulated Switchgear), GIS (Gas‑Insulated Switchgear) and GCB (Generator Circuit Breakers). In this role you will work hands‑on with these technologies, receive extensive training and certifications, and become a subject‑matter expert.
How You’ll Make an Impact
* Trained as a site manager responsible for maintenance and repairs
* Represent Hitachi as the primary contact on construction sites
* Advise customers and colleagues and coordinate internal and external partners
* Conduct briefings during acceptance inspections
* Maintain a strong focus on safety
* Proactively identify and advance improvement opportunities
Your Background
* Completed technical education or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
* Preferably practical experience in installation, commissioning or service
* Willingness to travel for assignments from your German home base
* Valid driving licence
* German language skills at level B2 or commitment to achieve B2 before start (language course funded by us)
* Residence in Germany required (relocation and family integration support provided)
* Freelancers: valid work permit and ability to invoice in Germany
