Electrical Site Manager
Role Overview
The Site Manager will be responsible for running all or part of a construction site. This includes budgeting, organisation, implementation, and scheduling of the projects.
We have exciting opportunities for an Electrical Site Manager to join Suir Engineering. The position will be based on a EP&R project in Linz, Austria.
Responsibilities
* Preparing the site and liaising with other construction professionals such as architects, engineers, buyers, estimators, planners and surveyors before construction work starts.
* Developing the programme of work and strategy for making the project happen.
* Overseeing all aspects of the construction project, from site mobilisation until commissioning stage, including material procurement, subcontractor management and quality management.
* Leading daily pre-start meetings to discuss the day's activities and ensure all associated risks are addressed.
* Setting contractors to work, relaying design information from drawings, method statements and other project documents.
* Planning to prevent problems on site before they occur, e.g., planning the delivery and storage of equipment and materials.
* Managing and resolving any issues or conflicts during construction, implementing solutions and escalating when necessary.
* Monitoring progress, tracking milestones and reporting to the Project Manager.
* Providing on-site assistance to sub-contractors and monitoring quality of workmanship and adherence to specifications.
* Maintaining accurate project documentation, including site activity records, progress reports, change management and as-built drawings.
* Managing all aspects of Health & Safety, building a good relationship with the internal HSE department.
* Communicating with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, the public and the workforce.
* Fostering a positive work environment, providing leadership, guidance and support to the team and encouraging productivity.
* Staying updated on industry trends, construction technologies and best practices, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
* Performing any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested by the manager.
Qualifications
* Relevant degree, diploma, or certificate in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field, and a minimum of 10 years experience.
* 5+ years of experience in a managerial role.
* Valid SMSTS certificate.
* Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, CDM Regulations 2015.
* Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
* Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
* Familiarity with construction management software packages.
* Ability to plan and see the "big picture".
* Competent in conflict and crisis management.
* Leadership and human resources management skills, proven track record.
* Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements.
