Are you in? Your Role Taking on the role of a Trapped-Ion Development Engineer, you'll join a passionate, international team dedicated to making quantum computing a reality. As such, you will be driving the development of cutting-edge ion trap chips, advancing their integration into quantum processing units. Key responsibilities in your new role: * Characterize ion trap devices at cryogenic temperatures and ultra-high vacuum with the aid of stabilized laser systems * Design, develop and deploy hardware and software for operating and testing surface ion traps with the goal of fully automatized experiments * Author technical reports and publications in close collaborations with internal and external partners * Supervise and mentor Master and PhD students Your Profile Qualifications and skills to help you succeed: * PhD in physics, quantum engineering, electrical engineering or similar * 3 years of handson experience in ion trapping or quantum optics * Extensive experience in electronics, programming, lasers, and optics * High level of motivation, striving for quantum computing to become a reality * Fluency in English, German skills or the willingness to learn is a plus We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification.
