ABOUT THE ROLE
The VIC States Manager supports the Director of Operations in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, works across different sites, and provides temporary support and management for housekeeping departments at multiple locations.
This role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction within all areas of the property, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and has a keen eye for detail.
* Visit multiple properties or locations as needed, stepping in for absent Housekeeping Managers, being hands‑on whenever needed.
* Coordinate, plan, and execute workflow activities across multiple properties or locations.
* Lead, support, and directly participate in operational tasks with office and site personnel, including stepping in for absent managers.
* Manage and assist the housekeeping teams, including supervisors, room attendants, public area attendants, and housemen.
* Coordinate daily work schedules, allocate rooms, and delegate tasks to ensure effective cleaning coverage.
* Train, mentor, and motivate housekeeping staff to maintain company standards and service expectations.
* Conduct inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
* Handle client and guest feedback, resolving housekeeping or operational issues promptly.
* Maintain workplace materials, records, and documentation in line with legal obligations and best practice standards.
* Regularly review, update, and implement operational procedures and documentation.
* Manage third‑party communications, technology queries, and networking.
* Oversee cleaning teams to ensure efficiency and high‑quality outcomes.

ABOUT YOU
As someone with previous experience in the hospitality industry, you will possess a passion for delivering excellent service.
* Minimum of 5 years’ hands‑on experience in housekeeping operations management.
* Proven experience managing teams of housekeeping and operational staff.
* Relevant experience in a similar role within the hospitality or facilities management industry is preferred.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to be hands‑on and take on operational tasks as needed.
* Experience managing budgets, site P&L, performance scores, and operational KPIs.
* Experience in setting up new sites, including staffing and operational processes.
* Excellent organizational, reporting, and communication skills.
* Proactive approach to problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and maintaining high‑quality standards.
* Customer‑service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels – written, phone and face‑to‑face.
* Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.
* Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
* Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
* Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given, and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.
* Personal Attributes: Positive approach to change (essential)
* Other: Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
