As a Staff Data Scientist (m/f/d) at Finmatics, you will play a leading role in shaping our advanced AI solutions, especially those leveraging modern Large Language Models (LLMs). You will lead small teams, manage projects end-to-end, and work closely with leadership to define the company’s data science strategy. This position combines hands‑on technical work with strategic thinking and close cross‑functional collaboration.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Lead & Inspire—Guide a small, high-performing team of data scientists and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
* Own Projects End-to-End—Drive the design, development, and deployment of LLM-powered solutions—from idea to impact—ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
* Shape Strategy—Collaborate with leadership to define Finmatics’ data science roadmap and uncover opportunities where data can create real business value.
* Build Scalable Systems—Develop robust ML models and data pipelines using modern tools and frameworks, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
* Bridge Teams & Insights—Partner with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, translate them into actionable solutions, and communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Required Qualification
* Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
* Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex machine learning projects.
* Deep expertise in modern language models (LLMs), including prompting techniques, fine‑tuning, and related tooling.
* Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, or similar) and solid knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
* Hands‑on experience in data engineering, data management, and building scalable ML systems.
* Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate effectively across teams.
