We are looking for a Team Lead – Embedded Software Architect & Engineer (m/f/d). This role combines hands‑on engineering with the responsibility to coordinate and drive delivery. You lead a team of embedded developers, ensure high-quality implementation of work packages, and make key architectural decisions. You are the bridge between strategic roadmaps, architecture, and daily delivery, shaping systems that are robust, safe, and efficient.
Technical Leadership & Delivery
Lead and mentor developers, fostering high code quality and technical excellence
Plan, prioritize, and coordinate technical work packages, ensuring clarity and efficient execution
Monitor project progress, velocity, and delivery quality
Support skill development, knowledge sharing, and technical problem solving
Define and evolve architectures for TI Sitara™ (AM2x/AM6x)-based systems
Make architectural decisions regarding task partitioning, core utilization (Cortex-A / Cortex-R), memory allocation, and modular design
Ensure system architecture supports maintainability, performance, and safety standards (IEC 61508 / ISO 13849)
Hands‑on Development
Implement critical features in Embedded C
Contribute directly to prototypes or complex components when needed
Ensure integration of EtherCAT and optionally FSoE
Apply best practices for real‑time, resource‑constrained systems (STM32 and Sitara platforms)
Stakeholder Communication
Act as a technical point of contact for internal teams and customer engineers
Provide data‑driven reporting on progress, risks, and technical challenges
Your profile
Expert in Embedded C and system‑level architecture, with proven experience on TI Sitara™ (AM2x/AM6x) and STM32 platforms
Deep understanding of real‑time, resource‑constrained systems and safety‑critical software development (IEC 61508 / ISO 13849)
Strong experience with industrial communication protocols, particularly EtherCAT; FSoE experience is a plus
Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and mentoring: able to guide, coordinate, and support developers in planning, execution, and problem‑solving
Skilled at coordinating work packages and technical tasks, ensuring clarity, feasibility, and timely delivery
Able to make architectural decisions that balance performance, maintainability, and safety requirements
Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, able to balance hands‑on development with delivery responsibility
Fluent in English; German highly advantageous
Collaborative mindset, effective communicator with technical teams and stakeholders
Willingness to travel

According to the Austrian IT collective agreement, the minimum gross monthly salary for this position is € 4.485,- (38.5 hours/week). The actual salary will be determined based on market standards and depends on qualifications and professional experience. Overpayment is possible depending on skills and background.
