Senior Accountant - (Business Services Team) - Brisbane East OR Remote!
Our client is a Brisbane‑based accounting and advisory firm servicing clients nationally. As part of the broader Financial group, they sit within an ecosystem that spans accounting, wealth advice, business coaching, and property advisory. The accounting division partners with 7‑figure SME clients who are commercially sophisticated, growth‑focused, and looking for a proactive adviser relationship — not just a tax agent.
They’re expanding and looking for a Senior Accountant who is technically strong, commercially minded, and ready to own a portfolio end‑to‑end.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs
* Complete BAS/IAS, year‑end workpapers, and tax reconciliations
* Manage Division 7A calculations, loan accounts, and trust distribution planning
* Deliver tax planning, year‑end estimates, and strategic advice for SME clients
* Draft and review client correspondence and technical advice
* Contribute to quality assurance before work leaves the team
* Manage workflow and deadlines through Karbon
* Work within one of our internal pods, collaborating closely with the Head of Accounting
Our Ideal Candidate
* 4–6+ years’ experience in Australian public practice
* CA/CPA qualified (or near completion)
* Strong technical grounding across all entity types
* SMSF experience (preferred but not essential)
* Confident managing a client portfolio independently
* High attention to detail and strong written communication
* Proactive, accountable, and committed to quality — not just output
Technical competence is the baseline. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates early, and holds their work to a high standard before it reaches review.
Tech Stack
Experience with (or ability to quickly learn): Karbon, Xero, Xero Tax, BGL SF360, Ignition, Annature, NowInfinity, ChangeGPS, Microsoft 365.
