Duration: 12 months (Interns). The internship is awarded to students studying for a university degree or who have recently obtained one. The program aims to provide practical work experience aligned with students’ studies or interests and expose them to IAEA and UN activities.

Main Purpose
The internship is designed to support the Unit Head in the project management of the eLearning platform for the safe transport of radioactive material. The intern will assist in the development, maintenance and coordination of the platform, ensuring that content is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible in English. Additionally, the intern will help coordinate the translation of course materials into other UN languages, facilitating wider international accessibility.
Functions / Key Results Expected
* Assist in analysis, planning, designing and monitoring, and reporting on project activities related to the eLearning platform.
* Support the team in content management, including updating modules, tracking course progress, and ensuring quality standards.
* Coordinate with translators and experts to produce versions of training materials in UN official languages.
* Develop skills in eLearning tools, instructional design principles, and stakeholder coordination in the context of transport safety.
Qualifications and Experience
* University Degree – in or currently studying Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Sciences, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.
* Basic knowledge of radiation and nuclear safety.
* Excellent written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) an asset.
* Understanding of project life cycles, planning, scheduling, and monitoring.
* Awareness of instructional design principles, learning management systems (LMS), course development, and multimedia tools.
* Awareness of methods to track progress, assess course effectiveness, and report results.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), project management tools (MS Project, Trello, or similar), and basic familiarity with e-learning platforms.
* Anticipate needs of stakeholders of eLearning.
* Ability to interpret progress data, participation statistics, and feedback.
Applicant Eligibility
* Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree.
* Candidates may apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree.
* Candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.
* Good written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish or Russian) an asset.
* Candidates must attach two signed letters of recommendation to their application.
