Your responsibilities
* Contribution to a research project regarding tardigrade extremotolerance.
* You work on your dissertation and its completion.
* Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations.
* Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
* Involvement in the organization of meetings, conferences, symposia.
* You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
* Supervision of BSc and MSc students.
Your profile / qualifications
* University degree in Biology, Molecular Genetics or related fields.
* Successful VBC PhD program selection or similar international PhD selection required.
* Practical experience in handling and genetically manipulating non-model organisms; experience in genetics and cloning; experience with advanced bioinformatics tools.
* High ability to express yourself both orally and in writing (English, C1).
* Computer literacy (MS-Office; Imaging Software).
* Didactic competences / experience with e-learning.
* Ability to work in a team; knowledge of university processes and structures.
What we offer
* Employment duration: 3 years with possible extension; initially 1.5 years, with extension to 3 years if not terminated within the first 12 months, and potential extension to a total maximum of 4 years with progress.
* Fair salary: Job grading under the collective bargaining agreement §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc). Basic salary EUR 3,714.80 (full-time), higher with recognized professional experience.
