About the role
As a Key Account Manager Oncology, you will be responsible for the strategic management of important individual accounts and will play a key role in optimizing our Oncology portfolio’s performance. You will identify new business opportunities, build strong relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions, and develop tailored business development concepts to achieve ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Represent AstraZeneca standards and values in all external interactions
2. Proactively identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities within the managed portfolio
3. Develop and implement account strategies and business concepts aligned with account needs, including defining objectives, milestones, and measures
4. Prepare and execute account plans, ensuring all activities comply with internal and external codes and regulations
5. Identify, build, and further develop network structures (physicians, patients, diagnostics, etc.)
6. Forge strategic partnerships and provide support to key stakeholders in hospitals and private practices
7. Conduct highly scientific, customer- and patient-focused discussions
8. Deliver internal and/or external specialist presentations as required
9. Engage in continuous development in science, sales, and systems
10. Collaborate cross-functionally with Franchise Leads, field colleagues, brand teams, and patient safety
11. Share market insights to help drive marketing, sales, and medical excellence
12. Mentor colleagues as appropriate
13. Complete monthly reports, including competitive analysis and intelligence
14. Perform segmentation and targeting activities
15. Plan, manage, and take responsibility for budgets
Your profile
Education:
16. Completed pharmaceutical representative exam
17. Scientific degree (MSc equivalent), preferably in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, or veterinary medicine
Expertise/Experience:
18. Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical market and Austrian healthcare system
19. In-depth experience in the hospital market
20. Proven track record in sales, negotiation, and key account management
21. Advanced product and therapy area expertise
22. Excellent planning, management, and presentation skills
23. Comfortable with CRM systems and MS Office
24. Strong analytical and strategic capabilities
