As part of our measures to promote people with disabilities (Karriereinklusiv@WU), the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) is offering a position as a teaching and research associate.
The aim of WU is to promote young academics from the group of people with disabilities and to ensure academic excellence.
What to expect
* Writing a dissertation: You research your topic and can devote at least a third of your working time to your dissertation.
* Research, for yourself and others:You will be supporting publishing activities, conducting surveys, and carrying out research of practical relevance with cooperation partners and companies
* Teaching and teaching support:You will be planning and teaching courses, providing support for exams, and conducting exams yourself
* Student support:You will be available to answer students’ questions, provide feedback on seminar papers, and act as a co-advisor for bachelor’s theses
* Organizational and administrative support: You will be organizing and evaluating teaching activities, planning exams, keeping the budget in mind, and acquiring third-party funding.
* Ongoing further training: You can take advantage of subject-specific courses, in particular to strengthen the relevant methods for teaching and research.
* Learning from top researchers:You will be getting your own research career off to a great start by working together with renowned researchers in your field and learning from them.
* Build up a personal network: You will be using the pre-doc phase to create your own professional network for the future.
What you have to offer
* Degree: You have completed your diploma/master's degree program in a subject area that belongs to WU's range of subjects that qualifies you for enrollment in a doctoral program at WU. WU's specializations cover a broad spectrum from business administration and economics to formal studies, law, social sciences and linguistics. * Great interest: You have a great interest in academic work.
* Dissertation: You are interested in writing a dissertation in one of WU's subject areas (brief outline of the dissertation project required).
* Confirmation of supervision: You have a confirmation of supervision for your dissertation (statement from the planned supervising institute, supervisor required).
* Language skills: You have excellent English and German language skills.
* Commitment: Independent and thorough way of working, self-management and quality awareness as well as very good teamwork skills and flexibility.
* Willingness to use multimedia teaching methods:You are prepared to use multimedia teaching and learning formats.
* Notice of assessment:The advertised position is aimed exclusively at people with disabilities or chronic illnesses who belong to the circle of beneficiaries with disabilities people.

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €2.786,10 (14 times per year). Previous work experience can lead to a higher starting salary. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
