About the Job:

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll be building the neural system for the future of physical retail, enabling stores to “connect” with customers in fundamentally new and delightful ways. Think personalized experiences, and a seamless, intuitive shopping journey—all powered by our solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models for noisy sensor data, consumer behavior analysis, and predictive analytics.
Develop data collection and preprocessing pipelines using Go, SQL and Python. Find creative ways to label training data and leverage unlabeled data.
Get models ready for production by optimizing for performance, scalability and latency.
Package and integrate predictive services into existing infrastructure.
Maintain model versioning, monitoring, and evaluation in production.
Find new opportunities to improve.
Stay updated with the latest ML research and implement state‑of-the‑art algorithms.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
4+ years of professional experience developing and deploying machine learning solutions in production environments.
Strong Python proficiency with clean, maintainable code.
Solid grasp of ML algorithms (supervised/unsupervised), time‑series modeling, and predictive analytics.
Familiarity with experiment tracking tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases) and reproducible workflows.
Ability to analyse, summarise, and present complex experimental results clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Must already hold valid legal authorization to work in Austria.
Nice‑to‑Have:
Experience with SQL‑based data management and large‑scale dataset curation.
Experience working on spatial localization problems.
Proficiency in Go.
Familiarity with IoT systems, embedded development, and edge computing environments.
Hands‑on experience with wireless protocols (Bluetooth/BLE, Wi‑Fi) and usage in embedded setting.
Understanding of electromagnetic wave physics or signal propagation.
Prior exposure to low‑latency ML inference in production.
Skills/Abilities:
Ownership Mindset: Self‑driven and proactive—able to lead projects from concept to deployment with minimal supervision.
Full‑Lifecycle Expertise: Comfortable working across the entire ML pipeline—from data wrangling and feature engineering to model optimization and deployment. Ready to dive into the details when needed.
