Overview As an ESG Risk Management Consultant at ALDI SÜD HOLDING, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how ESG risks are identified, assessed, and managed across our international business. You will have the opportunity to influence long-term sustainability outcomes while ensuring we meet evolving global compliance standards. In this role you will drive the development of ESG-focused risk management across the ALDI SÜD Group. You will assess ESG risks and opportunities, including financial impacts and long-term exposure across ESG areas. You will monitor and interpret evolving ESG legislation and reporting requirements important to the retail industry, translating them into actionable risk controls and compliance activities. You will evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of internal ESG-related controls and processes. Furthermore you will develop ESG risk reporting for management and support disclosure of risk-relevant information. As a ESG Risk Management Consultant you serve as an internal advisor, partnering with key functions (e.g., sustainability, legal, procurement) to drive cross-functional awareness and action. In your role you contribute to corporate policy development and support the ESG integration into enterprise risk management framework.
Responsibilities Drive ESG risk identification, assessment, and management across the ALDI SÜD Group.
Assess ESG risks and opportunities, including financial impacts and long-term exposure across ESG areas.
Monitor and interpret evolving ESG legislation and reporting requirements, translating them into actionable risk controls and compliance activities.
Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of internal ESG-related controls and processes.
Develop ESG risk reporting for management and support disclosure of risk-relevant information.
Serve as an internal advisor, partnering with key functions (e.g., sustainability, legal, procurement) to drive cross-functional awareness and action.
Contribute to corporate policy development and support the ESG integration into the enterprise risk management framework.
Your Profile The requirements of the role include:
Degree in economics, sustainability, finance, risk, or a related field.
5+ years of professional experience in risk management, ESG/sustainability, compliance, or corporate governance.
Familiar with Double Materiality Assessment and its application in ESG risk analysis.
Analytical and conceptual thinking, with the ability to translate ESG topics into business-relevant risks.
Experience working cross-functionally and delivering strategic recommendations to leadership.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (German is a plus).
Motivation, resourcefulness, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, international environment.

Remuneration Gross annual salary starting from €60,900*
