Our firm provides end-to-end financial services including bookkeeping, tax compliance, tax advisory, and management/CFO advisory. We work closely with business owners to help them understand their financial position and make confident decisions about the future of their business.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant / Registered Tax Agent to join our team in a fully remote role.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys technical tax work, reviewing returns, and mentoring accountants who are developing their careers in public practice.
About the Role
You will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our tax work while supporting the development of our accounting team.
Responsibilities
* Preparing tax returns and financial statements for companies, trusts, SMSF, partnerships, and individuals
* Reviewing tax returns and financials prepared by other accountants
* Providing technical tax guidance to the team
* Assisting with complex tax matters including trust structures, capital gains, and Division 7A
* Supporting and mentoring accountants who are developing toward becoming tax agents
* Maintaining high standards of compliance and workpaper documentation
This role allows you to focus on technical tax work and professional leadership, without the pressure of business development or sales.
About You
You are an experienced public practice accountant who enjoys both technical tax work and helping others improve their skills.
Qualifications
* 7+ years experience in public practice
* Registered Tax Agent status
* Strong experience with small business clients and business structures
* Experience reviewing tax returns and financial statements
* Excellent technical tax knowledge
* The ability to mentor and guide junior accountants
Experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and Xero Tax will be highly regarded.
