Job Summary
The Safeguards Information Analyst (Open Source) will contribute to the IAEA's nuclear verification mission by collecting, processing, and analyzing open source information in support of the safeguards verification mission.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in science or technology, at least five years of experience in nuclear non-proliferation or safeguards information collection and analysis, and excellent oral and written command of English.
Responsibilities
* Participate in State Evaluation Groups and contribute to the State Evaluation process by identifying, processing, and evaluating the quality and reliability of safeguards-relevant information.
* Conduct analyses of open source information relevant to the verification mission of the Department of Safeguards in assigned States.
* Assist in the evaluation of State declarations, including Additional Protocol declarations, where appropriate, for assigned States.
* Lead and participate in project teams in accordance with the requirements of the Divisional annual work plan.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree - University degree in science (e.g., physics, chemistry), technology (e.g., nuclear, mechanical or other engineering), or in an area of relevance to non-proliferation studies.
* Minimum of five years of experience in nuclear non-proliferation or safeguards information collection and analysis, or in nuclear research related to non-proliferation issues.
* Experience in the use of information collection, processing, and analysis techniques, including advanced text retrieval techniques and databases.
* Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an asset.
