We are searching for a Senior Backend Developer being part of a smart, motivated and open-minded engineering team.
Responsibilities:
* Applying best practices of modern software design to extend our SaaS platform with new features and refactoring existing services.
* Developing and maintaining globally distributed web applications which are used by millions of users every day worldwide.
* Monitoring, benchmarking and improving (micro)service performance.
* Driving the development by working closely together with other back- and front-end developers, UX/UI experts, and product designers.
* Taking ownership of projects.
* Becoming a mentor for other team members.
Requirements:
* 5+ years backend engineering experience.
* 3+ years experience with cloud solutions (preferably on AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform).
* Good experience in NodeJS or comparable languages.
* Deep understanding of Python and its ecosystem.
* Practical experience in database design and handling (e.g. MySQL, Postgres or NoSQL).
* Experience in test automation, unit testing and documentation.
* Knowledge of how to write good tests or even practice TDD and set up automated testing environments.
* Experience in building well-designed and tested applications with clean code.
* Very good skills in analyzing and visualizing complex technical scenarios.
* Prefer working in teams, sharing knowledge, and being eager to learn.
* Passionate about code quality and pragmatic in getting things done.
* Drive for improving processes and thinking in long-term wins.
* Fluency in English (in both written and verbal communication).
Nice to have:
* Fluency in JavaScript or other programming languages.
* Experience with Django/DRF.
* Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery.
* Knowledge in PHP and practical experience with Kubernetes are a big plus.
* German is a big advantage, but not required.
