Organizational Setting
The Division of Information Technology provides support to the IAEA in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), including information systems for technical programmes and management. It is responsible for planning, developing and implementing an ICT strategy, for setting and enforcing common ICT standards throughout the Secretariat and for managing central ICT services. The IAEA's ICT infrastructure comprises hardware and software platforms, and cloud and externally-hosted services. The Division has implemented an IT service management model based on ITIL and Prince2 best practices.
Main Purpose
The Associate Programme Officer (MTIT) works in the Office of the Director, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, whose function is to ensure overall coordination of activities between the Division's Sections with a view to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of implementation, and administrative processes.
The incumbent supports the Director and Section Heads in tracking deadlines and deliverables, develops and implements means to collect and monitor performance indicators, conducts financial and budgetary analyses and prepares and drafts reports and analyses.
The Associate Programme Officer (MTIT) assists in the coordination of the Division's programme and budget and related reporting and monitoring activities, and supports efforts to increase the effectiveness of collaboration and internal communication.
Role
The Associate Programme Officer (MTIT) is a collaborator and analyst, providing input and support as needed, developing expertise and knowledge in the area of management, budget and programme and financial planning and implementation, and working collaboratively within the Division and with other departments and Offices.
Functions / Key Results Expected
* Coordinates activities between the Division's Sections to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of implementation, including official MTIT coordination groups (e.g., ITAG and IT Steering Committee).
* Conducts analysis and drafts reports and other internal communications for decision‐makers on strategic areas within MTIT for the Director or Section Heads.
* Coordinates and provides centralized support and facilitates various Divisional activities.
* Tracks deadlines, deliverables and implements means to collect and monitor performance indicators.
* Contributes to resource planning and budget implementation by monitoring and analyzing programme and budget progress across all awards and Sections.
* Identifies and analyses financial challenges and makes recommendations for resolution.
* Cooperates with the Office of the Deputy Director General MT to develop the Division's programme and budget submission.
* Provides quality checks for all financial and resource planning data and reports.
* Supports the Division in quarterly reporting.

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills
* Bachelor's Degree
University degree in international relations, business administration, economics, or a related field.
* Minimum of two years of experience in programme and resource planning, assessment and review or a related field.
* Knowledge of the principles and applications of results‑based management and programme and project planning.
* Skills in problem analysis and information research.
* Strong analytical and financial skills.
* Ability to follow‑up on tasks independently.
* Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
Remuneration
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax‑free annual net base salary starting at US $55,163 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment currently amounts to US $31,112*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
