Overview
Vice President (VP) – Internal Audit, responsible for leading and developing the group‑wide internal audit function. The role reports to the Executive Board and the Audit Committee and oversees a team of 15 experts.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of 15 experts and report directly to the Executive Board and the Audit Committee.
Define and continuously evolve the Group Internal Audit strategy in close alignment with the OMV Group strategy.
Build a modern, future‑ready audit organization with strong finance, governance, digital, IT and AI capabilities.
Develop and oversee the annual audit plan that is responsive to changes and supports informed decision‑making at Executive and Board level.
Supervise the execution of audits across the whole Group, ensuring the highest standards of audit quality and methodological rigor.
Identify structural weaknesses, root causes of inefficient or uneconomic practices, and systemic control gaps and provide actionable recommendations for sustainable improvement.
Ensure effective follow‑up on audit findings, monitor implementation of corrective actions, and raise unresolved issues.
Proactively advise senior management on significant control, compliance, governance, IT and cyber‑related risks requiring immediate attention.
Establish strong, trust‑based relationships across the Group, supporting management in strengthening internal controls, risk management, compliance and governance frameworks.
Provide international exposure and travel to decentralized locations as required.
Qualifications
Wide ranging knowledge and experience across all aspects of Internal Audit activities, including internal auditing principles, standards and modern digital tools.
Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience and experience leading multidisciplinary teams in an international environment.
Experience working in a highly structured multicultural environment with a solid understanding of the organisation’s broader business imperatives.
Master’s degree in information technology, business administration, finance, engineering or economics; alternatively, evidence of appropriate audit training.
Professional qualification such as StB, WP, RA, ACCA, CPA, CIA, CFE or equivalent, particularly for Austrian candidates.
Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills in German and English.

Compensation & Relocation
The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement is EUR 135,618 all‑in. Depending on skills and experience, over‑payment is possible. OMV offers relocation packages for international moves.
